The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (No. 5) Regulations 2025

These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/2864) to allow holders of Group 2 licences (bus and lorry drivers) to use any appropriate glucose monitoring system, by removing the requirement for blood testing.

Enabling power

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 92(4)(b) and 105(1), (2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1988. Representative organisations have been consulted in accordance with section 195(2) of that Act.
