WEEE compliance fee: how it will work

Following the 2013 consultation on changes to the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) system, we began implementing the new WEEE system. This included a collection target and a compliance fee that Producer Compliance Schemes (PCSs) may choose to pay if they fail to achieve their target.

Earlier this year we invited views on how the compliance fee should work. We’re now asking for views on these proposals. We particularly want views from:

• producers
• Approved, Authorised Treatment Facilities (AATFs)
• PCSs
• local authorities
• waste management companies
• re-use sector
