The Train Driving Licences and Certificates (Amendment) Regulations 2026
These Regulations amend regulations 4 and 8 of the Train Driving Licences and Certificates Regulations 2010 (S.I. 2010/724) which relate to the requirement for train driving licences and certificates and the conditions on which a train driving licence can be issued. Regulations 4 and 8 are secondary assimilated law within the meaning of section 11(2) of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023 (c. 28).

Enabling power
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14(1), (3), (4)(c) and (7) of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Act 2023. The Secretary of State is a relevant national authority for the purposes of section 14(1) and (3) of the 2023 Act. In accordance with paragraph 5(1) and (5) of Schedule 5 to the 2023 Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
