The Registration of Births and Deaths (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020
These Regulations amend the Registration of Births and Deaths Regulations 1987 (S.I. 1987/2088) (‘the 1987 Regulations’). They amend regulation 9(1) of the 1987 Regulations to allow for the entry of information in a birth registration entry without the registrar needing to be in the presence of the informant.

The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 39 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953, with the approval of the Secretary of State, makes the following Regulations.
