The British Transport Police (Barred List and Advisory List) Regulations 2026
These Regulations are made under Schedule 25 to the Crime and Policing Act 2026 (c. 20) (special police forces: barred persons lists and advisory lists) which require the British Transport Police Authority (“the Authority”) to maintain a “barred persons list” (paragraph 1 of Schedule 25) and an “advisory list” (paragraph 9 of Schedule 25) in relation to the British Transport Police Force.

Enabling power
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 252(1) and paragraphs 1(3), 5(1)(b), 6, 7(2), 7(3), 9(2), 11(3) and 13(e) of Schedule 25 to the Crime and Policing Act 2026. In accordance with paragraph 15(1) of Schedule 25 to that Act the Secretary of State has consulted with the Scottish Ministers before making these Regulations.
