The Birmingham Commonwealth Games (Concurrent Exercise of Traffic Management Powers) Regulations 2022

Under section 25(1) (games transport plan) of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Act 2020 (c. 10), the Secretary of State has directed the West Midlands Combined Authority (“the Authority”) to prepare a Games transport plan which addresses transport matters relating to the Games. These Regulations enable the Authority to exercise the traffic management powers provided for under section 26 (temporary prohibition or restriction on roads) of that Act concurrently with local traffic authorities that have given consent, and are specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.
