Background
Voters cannot make an informed decision on which candidates to vote for in elections if candidates lie about their promises.
Politicians lying repeatedly to the public in order to secure a seat in Parliament and gain power. We've seen this happen with Brexit, Nigeria Farage and Kier Starmer. If political parties or politicians cannot gain the poplar vote without deceiving the public they are not fit to govern a country and should be penalised for placing the country and its people in danger
