Start mining British coal again for the environment and heritage sector
We call on the Government to start mining coal again. A small anthracite mine, which we think could bring the cost of fuel down enormously for heritage sites and be considerably greener, as it wouldn't need to shipped from the other side of the world.

Background
Currently, museums and railways are having to pay huge premiums to import coal from abroad. We believe that not only is the quality poor, it has to be shipped across the ocean. Somehow this called 'clean coal' when we believe that it is actually the opposite. In our view our own supplies are far cleaner burning, there would be less transport cost and emissions doing this. I hope the government can open their minds to what is happening here, as I believe net zero is destroying the industry while generating more pollution than a domestic solution.
