Amendments to the NHS pension scheme regulations

The department is consulting on a draft of The National Health Service Pension Scheme, Additional Voluntary Contributions and Injury Benefits (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

A copy of the draft regulations and details of how to respond to the consultation are available on the NHS Business Services Authority website.

An impact assessment and equality analysis have been prepared in relation to the proposed increases in member contribution rates from 1 April 2013. These increases are part of the government’s intention to raise employee contributions in phases over the three years from 2012-13 to 2014-15. The proposed contribution rates for 2013-14 have been shared with NHS trade unions.
