General Data Protection Regulation: Call for Views
HMG is seeking views on the derogations (exemptions) contained within the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Last fetched 03 May 2026 · gov.uk
Detail
The GDPR will have direct effect in UK law from 25 May 2018. There are derogations (flexibilities) within the GDPR where the UK can exercise discretion over how certain provisions will apply.
For all derogations, stakeholders are encouraged to submit their views through the online ‘Call for Views’, uploading research and/or data where relevant. This exercise is to capture views on if and how the government should implement the defined flexibilities permitted within the GDPR.
