Last fetched 03 May 2026 · gov.uk
Detail

We want to know your views on how we can best provide accessible public sector information. We need to balance the desire for more data being freely available at the point of use, whilst making sure its affordable and value for taxpayers.

We’re asking questions on the following main features of data policy:

  • charging
  • licensing
  • regulation of public sector information produced by the Public Data Corporation (PDC) for re-use

The responses will help us to create a PDC to advise ministers on releasing public sector data.

The consultation is open to everyone:

  • citizens
  • businesses
  • public services
  • other interest groups
