Detail

The Government is seeking views from all interested parties, individuals and groups from across the United Kingdom on the matters covered by this consultation.

Purpose of this consultation

Updating the current Code of Practice for the video recording with sound of interviews of persons detained at a police station in Northern Ireland under section 41 of, or Schedule 7 to, the Terrorism Act 2000 (TACT) requires secondary legislation which must be approved by both Houses of Parliament. The Government recognises the need to keep the public informed and to allow people the opportunity to comment on policy proposals.

This consultation, therefore, invites views on the proposed draft Code of Practice for the video recording with sound of interviews of persons detained at a police station in Northern Ireland under section 41 of, or Schedule 7 to, the Terrorism Act 2000 (TACT).
