Detail

We are consulting on 2 proposals to reform the permits which foreign registered aircraft must obtain before they can operate in the UK or carry out aerial work under the Air Navigation Order 2009. The government proposes to:

  • remove the objection process, which currently allows UK and community carriers established in the UK to object to the grant of a permit in respect of a non-scheduled flight by a foreign registered aircraft
  • transfer from the Secretary of State for Transport to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) the administration of these permits
