Civil Aviation Bill: making the transition to the new airport economic regulation framework
Consultation on a draft version of a statutory instrument which is required to bring airport economic regulation provisions into force.
The Civil Aviation Bill has completed its passage through Parliament and now awaits Royal Assent.
Royal Assent will be received at the next available opportunity, which we anticipate will be before Christmas.
In order to bring the airport economic regulation provisions in the Bill into force, a statutory instrument (SI) is required. The Department for Transport has issued a consultation on a draft version of this SI, which contains the transitional and commencement arrangements for the airport economic regulation provisions in the Bill.
Interested parties are invited to respond. The consultation will run for 7 weeks, from 10 December 2012 to 25 January 2013.
