Last fetched 03 May 2026 · gov.uk
Detail

The Regulator of Social Housing currently charges private registered providers for initial entry to its register and for proactive economic regulation. Its fee-charging powers are set out in Section 117 of the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008

The regulator is in the process of revising its fees principles and reviewing the level of the fees it charges registered providers. This is to ensure that the fees principles align with its new powers in the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 and that it has adequate resources to undertake its expanded remit of proactive consumer regulation.

This consultation relates to proposed changes to the regulator’s fees principles and the level of the fees it charges registered providers. It represents an opportunity for interested persons, bodies and organisations to influence these proposals.
