Proposed reduction in frequency of Afghanistan operational casualty statistics
We are seeking your views on the proposed reduction in frequency of the publication of Afghanistan operational casualty Official Statistics.
Defence Statistics (Health) currently produce 3 operational casualty Official Statistics on UK service personnel deployed to Afghanistan. Following the UK drawdown in Afghanistan very low numbers of casualties are being reported.
Defence Statistics are therefore consulting with internal and external stakeholders on the proposal to reduce the frequency of the following operational casualty Official Statistics:
- UK service personnel amputation statistics from quarterly to annually
- Afghanistan very seriously injured (VSI) and seriously injured (SI) tracking statistics from bi-annually to annually
- UK service personnel patient treatment Statistics from monthly to quarterly
