Angel Road rail station closure: May 2019

Consultation proposing closure of Angel Road rail station in May 2019 when Meridian Water rail station opens. Meridian Water is being built to better serve local passenger demand. We consider maintaining both stations would:

• reduce track capacity
• increase journey times along the West Anglia Main Line
• increase operating costs

By closing Angel Road rail station, Network Rail will be better able to:

• focus rail industry resources on improving the passenger rail service
• support regeneration of the surrounding area
