Detail
We want to know your views on a proposal to extend the current residency requirement for EU nationals in England from 3 years to 5 years, before they can receive higher education living cost support.
We want to continue to attract EU students to our higher education institutions, as overseas students bring substantial benefits to the UK. We propose to extend the residency requirement for EU nationals. This will bring England in line with the majority of the other EU countries that offer support, and reduce pressure on the student funding budget.
