Expanding the information sharing powers in Part 5 (chapter one) of the Digital Economy Act 2017 to support passported benefits and reduce fuel poverty

This consultation sets out proposals to make changes affecting powers in the Digital Economy Act 2017 (DEA) in order to enable information sharing to:

• support the delivery of passported benefits (such as free school meals)
• provide support to individuals and households with energy debt through the introduction of an energy Debt Relief Scheme
