This consultation invites views on new requirements for trade unions to supply annual assurance that their membership records are accurate and up to date.

The consultation:

details the requirements for unions to provide a membership audit certificate (MAC) and the timetable for its production
sets out the requirement for unions with more than 10,000 members to appoint an independent assurer
consults on the content of a regulatory order for assurers
seeks comments on guidance for unions, employers and assurers
