Seeks views on designating the power to give harbour directions to harbour authorities. Applications for designation were received from 31 statutory harbour authorities in England and statutory non-fishery harbour authorities in Wales.
The Secretary of State for Transport can designate harbour authorities with the power to give harbour directions due amendments to the Harbours Act 1964 from the Marine Navigation Act 2013.
It is the responsibility, with regard to the power to give harbour directions, of:
- Welsh Ministers to designate any Welsh fishery harbours
- Scottish Ministers to designate statutory harbour authorities in Scotland
