The purpose of Directive 2005/65/EC is to enhance security coordination in the wider port area at the ports of Great Yarmouth, Rosyth and Tyne, as opposed to the immediate ship/port interface covered by Regulation (EC) 725/2004. The directive requires the
- designation of a Port Security Authority
- appointment of a Port Security Officer
- conduct of a Port Security Risk Assessment
- creation of a Port Security Plan
The draft Designation Orders append plan(s) delineating the area which the Port Security Authority will cover for the purposes of this directive.
