Sought views on reform of key areas of skills policy, to develop a skills system that would better meet the needs of employers and learners.
Views and ideas were particularly sought on:
- where public investment was most valuable
- how the skills system could be made simpler and more effective
- how we could better support employers and individuals to invest in learning and develop the skills they and the economy needed
It also provided the background for the technical funding system and methodology consultation that was launched at the same time.
The ‘Skills for Sustainable Growth Strategy’ is the government’s response to this consultation.
