The School Organisation (Establishment and Discontinuance of Schools) (Amendment) Regulations 2026
These Regulations amend the Schools Organisation (Establishment and Discontinuance of Schools) Regulations 2013 (S.I. 2013/3109) (“the Principal Regulations”). The Principal Regulations prescribe various matters relating to proposals for the establishment and discontinuance of schools pursuant to the provisions contained in Part 2 of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 (c. 40) (the “Act”).

Enabling power
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 7(3)(c), (d) and (e), (4)(a) and (6), 10(3) and (5), 15(3) and 181(2) of, and paragraphs 5, 10, 13(2), 20 and 21 of Schedule 2 to, the Education and Inspections Act 2006.
