The Ozone-Depleting Substances (Grant of Halon Derogations) Regulations 2021
These Regulations provide for specific derogations from the current arrangements relating to critical uses of a controlled substance, halon 1301, in Regulation (EC) 1005/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on substances that deplete the ozone layer (“Ozone-Depleting Substances Regulation”). The Ozone-Depleting Substances Regulation forms part of retained EU law.

Enabling power
The Secretary of State, with the consent of the Scottish Ministersand the Welsh Ministers, makes these Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by Article 13(4) of Regulation(recast) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16th September 2009 on substances that deplete the ozone layer.
