The Northern Ireland Assembly Elections (Returning Officer’s Charges) Order 2022
Section 29(3) of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (c. 2), as applied to Northern Ireland Assembly elections by the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/2599), enables the Secretary of State to specify in an Order the overall maximum recoverable amount that the returning officer may recover in respect of services rendered, or expenses incurred, for or in connection with an Assembly election.

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 29(3) and (4C) of the Representation of the People Act 1983, as applied to Northern Ireland Assembly elections by article 3(1) of, and Schedule 1 to, the Northern Ireland Assembly Elections Order 2001makes the following Order:
