The Noise Emission in the Environment by Equipment for Use Outdoors (Amendment and Transitional) Regulations 2025
These Regulations amend the Noise Emission in the Environment by Equipment for use Outdoors Regulations 2001 (S.I. 2001/1701) (“the 2001 Regulations”) to update the methods for measuring levels of airborne noise.

Enabling power
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1)(a), 2(1)(a) and (b), 2(2)(c), (d), (h) and (j), 2(3)(a) to (c), (f) and (g), 2(4), 2(6)(a), 2(7)(a), 9(1)(a) and 13(2)(a), (d), (e) and (g) of the Product Regulation and Metrology Act 2025. In accordance with section 2(8) of that Act, the Secretary of State has had regard to the social, environmental and economic impact of making these Regulations. In accordance with section 13(6) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted such persons as the Secretary of State considered appropriate.
