These Regulations remake the National Minimum Wage Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/584) and consolidate the amendments made to those Regulations.

These Regulations are made by the Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(3) and (4), 2, 3, 9 and 51(1)(b) of the National Minimum Wage Act 1998. Section 9 of that Act is extended by section 5 of the Agricultural Sector (Wales) Act 2014, section 3A(1) of the Agricultural Wages (Scotland) Act 1949and Article 8A(1) of the Agricultural Wages (Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 1977.
