The Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) Regulations 2014
These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 (“the 1981 Regulations”), which make provision for certain motor vehicles to be examined by persons authorised by the Secretary of State and for test certificates to be issued for vehicles that are found to meet certain requirements. These certificates are commonly referred to as “MOT Certificates”.

In determining the amount of the fees specified in these Regulations, the Secretary of State has taken into account the costs of the functions listed in paragraphs 21, 22 and 24 of Schedule 1 to the Department for Transport (Fees) Order 2009and has taken into account the matters listed in Schedule 2 to that Order in determining the costs of those functions.
