The Listed Events (Coverage) Regulations 2026
These Regulations make provision in connection with the listed events regime set out in Part 4 of the Broadcasting Act 1996 (“the Act”) (as amended by the Media Act 2024). Listed events are sporting and other events of national interest designated by the Secretary of State in accordance with section 97 of the Act.

Enabling power
The Office of Communications make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 104ZA(1) and (2A) of the Broadcasting Act 1996. Before making these Regulations, the Office of Communications gave and published notice of their proposal to do so, and considered representations made to them before the time specified in the notice, as required by section 403(4) to (6) of the Communications Act 2003.
