The Lifts (Amendment) Regulations 2016
These Regulations amend the Lifts Regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016/1093) to make clear that those Regulations apply to lifts and safety components for lifts placed on the market on or after 8th December 2016 (the commencement date for those Regulations), but do not apply to lifts and safety components for lifts placed on the market before that date.

Enabling power
The Secretary of State, who is a Minister designatedfor the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972in relation to measures relating to lifts and safety components for use in lifts, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act.
