The Legal Services Act 2007 (Approved Regulator) Order 2024
This Order cancels the designation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“the Association”) as an approved regulator under Part 4 (regulation of approved regulators) of the Legal Services Act 2007 (c. 29) in relation to probate activities. The cancellation of this designation means that, from the date the Order comes into force, the Association is no longer permitted to authorise and regulate persons in relation to probate activities.

the Association the Board the Act The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“”) has applied to the Legal Services Board (“”) under section 45(3)(a) of the Legal Services Act 2007 (“”). The Board has made a recommendation to the Lord Chancellor under section 45(3) of the Act, on the basis that the Association has complied with the requirements of section 45(3)(a), (b) and (c) of the Act, that an order be made cancelling the Association’s designation as an approved regulator in relation to probate activities. The Lord Chancellor makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 45(1)(a) of the Act. In accordance with section 206(5) of the Act, a draft of this instrument was laid before Parliament and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
