The Jurors’ Allowances (Amendment) Regulations 2012
These Regulations, which come into force on 30th July 2012, amend the Jurors' Allowances Regulations 1978 (SI 1978/1579) to prescribe a condition for payment of such allowances. The amendments provide that a juror will not receive payments pursuant to section 19 of the Juries Act 1974 (c. 23) unless a claim is made within 12 months of the conclusion of jury service. This change does not apply to any person summoned to serve as a juror on or before the coming into force of these Regulations i.e. 30th July 2012.

The Lord Chancellor, with the consent of the Minister for the Civil Service, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 19(1) of the Juries Act 1974:
