The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 11) Order 2013
This Order brings into force provisions of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (c. 25). Article 2 commences the repeal of section 5(2) of the Coroners Act 1988 (c. 13). Section 5(2) of that Act permitted the coroner to hold an inquest only within that coroner’s district. This repeal will remove the geographical restriction on where an inquest may take place.
