The Civil Legal Aid (Remuneration and Statutory Charge) (Amendment) Regulations 2016
These Regulations amend two statutory instruments relating to the provision of civil legal services under the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (c. 10) (“the Act), consequential on the commencement of the 2016 Standard Civil Contract (Welfare Benefits) (“the Contract”) on 1st November 2016. The Contract governs certain arrangements made under section 2 of the Act, namely the provision of face to face work in the category of Welfare Benefits.

The Lord Chancellor makes the following Regulationsin exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(3), 25(3), 25(4)(c), 25(5)(c), 41(1)(a) and (b) and 41(3)(b) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.
