The Care and Support (Direct Payments) (Amendment) Regulations 2016
Regulation 2 of these Regulations omits Staffordshire County Council from Schedule 2 to the Care and Support (Direct Payments) Regulations 2014 (the 2014 Regulations) so that they may no longer make direct payments for the provision of accommodation in a care home for a period of more than 4 consecutive weeks in any 12 month period.

The Secretary of State having had regard to the general duty of local authorities under section 1(1) of the Care Act 2014(promotion of individual well-being)makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 33(1) and (2), 75(7), and 125(7) and (8) of that Act.
