Briefing
The Doha ‘Development’ Round of World Trade Organisation talks have progressed slowly. Due for completion by the end of 2004, a series of deadlines have been missed, and persistent disagreement on key issues recently resulted in suspension of the negotiations. It is currently unclear whether the talks can be restarted, though the working deadline for completing the Round – the end of 2006 - now seems unlikely to be met.
