Credit Ratings Agencies Regulation

This note focuses upon new rules which have been applied to credit ratings agencies since the financial crash of 2008. CRAs are now authorised by a central European agency the European Securities and Markets Authority which has devweloped rules covering the methodology used by CRAs, their governance and IT reliability. An annual review of how the new rules are working is carried out by ESMA and links to that are included in the note.
