Make it a legal requirement to stop and act when you hit or run over a cat.
I want it made a legal requirement to at least stop and act if you hit a cat, or run over a cat. Theirs laws for dogs so why not cats? They are loved pets just as much, they deserve that dignity just as much! Stopping, taking action & reporting should be a legal requirement!

Background
500 words is no where near enough. I am utterly heartbroken, my cat was hit at speed and left like last nights rubbish. She sustained horrific, traumatic injuries, she did not make it after fighting for her life. I had to see that, whilst people were eating tea we were digging a hole in the ground. It’s disgusting that someone can do that, cause that hurt and just go about their day & life. Why dogs and not cats?
