Background
Illegal immigrants cross the English channel nearly every day illegally usually helped by criminal gangs, many have to be rescued when their boat gets into trouble, this method of crossing the channel is not only illegal it is dangerous and many people have died doing so. This costs the tax payer millions of pounds every day we believe this money would be better spent elsewhere.
