i'd like the government to age restrict access to the internet from 16 years old
Just as age restrictions on smoking/vaping/alcohol are in place and "Totally work", thus mitigating the need for the Online child safety act Any one with internet access should be required to obtain an internet licence just like a Security guard is required to be SIA licence vetted.

Background
The government seems to be starting a route to a dystopian UK by stealing control from members of the public and forcing them to sharing their data with companies that simply are not interested in gathering that information and putting new systems in line of sight of hackers and data brokers. If a breach did occur the government would run a mile from that scenario and blame the company for fault, Education starts at home with the bill payers, not with the Rod of government.
