Background
Many domestic abuse survivors continue to experience post-separation abuse while awaiting lengthy criminal court proceedings, despite bail conditions or non-harassment orders. This can include indirect and direct online harassment, coercive control, stalking, intimidation and smear campaigns. We believe stronger protections, faster action on breaches and improved safeguarding measures for individuals awaiting trial for serious domestic abuse offences is needed.
