Review into deaths of young people leaving the care system to include over 25s
The review into the deaths of young people leaving the care system should include over 25s. Many struggle throughout their life with the trauma and experience from before, and during, being in care, including with mental health issues, addiction, homelessness and to feel understood, seen and heard.

Background
In our view, care experienced adults over 25 rarely feature in reviews, yet many sadly continue to struggle throughout their life to such an extent that they are no longer with us. We believe that trauma is often misunderstood without adequate Trauma Release Specific Mental Health interventions within the NHS, resulting in many concluding that mental health services don't work. We must develop a better understanding of Trauma in older Care Experienced and recognise gaps in care & support.
