Background
Fragrance exposure can trigger serious reactions in patients with conditions such as MCAS, asthma, COPD, migraines and chemical sensitivities. Symptoms can include breathing difficulty, cognitive impairment and systemic reactions. These risks are largely avoidable but remain unmanaged in NHS settings. Simple measures such as awareness and signage would reduce harm and improve accessibility for vulnerable patients.
