Background
Domestic abuse offenders should still have the right to live their lives and have relationships, but they should be required to report new relationships to police so risks can be assessed and safeguarding considered. This could help police inform potential partners sooner, where appropriate, and help prevent further domestic abuse. This would support earlier intervention where there is a clear risk of harm.
