Background
This legislation should acknowledge cosmetic surgery as a specialist branch of surgery and be a legally protected title, by creating a specialist pathway for cosmetic surgery with training /FRCS qualification status, and a transparent route to transfer skills from other branches of medical training. This could keep public safe & prevent cosmetic cowboy clinics from recruiting potentially lower grade doctors and prevent doctors with no surgical speciality from causing catastrophic injury to patients.
