Background
Many disabled people require ceiling hoists for safe transfers and dignified care. We ask the Government to require all NHS A&E departments to provide at least one ceiling hoist in an accessible toilet and one in a treatment cubicle.
Without this equipment, patients may face unsafe transfers, delays, discomfort, and loss of dignity. Providing ceiling hoists would improve accessibility, protect patients and staff, and ensure disabled people receive equal, safe emergency care.
