Require a vote and consultation before implementing the new UK–EU Reset Deal
Require a full vote in Parliament and public consultation before implementing the UK–EU Reset Deal signed in May 2025. We think the deal includes major policy shifts and must not proceed without democratic consent. We think doing so would undermine public trust in authority

Background
The UK–EU Reset Deal includes substantial commitments: access to UK waters for EU fishing vessels until 2038, participation in a new defence procurement programme with the EU, and exploring a youth experience scheme. These were not in the 2024 Labour manifesto. We think that implementing them without a binding parliamentary vote and formal public consultation undermines democratic legitimacy. As a voter, I was never given a say in this. We think these changes represent a significant shift in the United Kingdom’s post-Brexit constitutional direction.
