Rebrand the National Living Wage as the National Minimum Wage
We call on the Government to rename the National Living Wage as the National Minimum Wage. We believe the current title is misleading, as it implies the rate is sufficient to live on when many workers still struggle to meet basic living costs.

Background
We believe the term "National Living Wage" is misleading because it suggests the rate is sufficient to meet the cost of living. In reality, many full-time workers earning this wage still struggle to afford essentials such as housing, food, energy and transport. We feel the title should accurately reflect what it is: the legal minimum employers can pay, so renaming it back to "National Minimum Wage" would improve transparency and reduce public misunderstanding.
