Background
In our view recent cases suggests there are widespread CPS failures to disclose evidence, causing wrongful convictions and collapsed trials. We believe victims and defendants suffer when prosecutors inadequately understand or ignore disclosure duties. We think current training appear insufficient to prevent repeated mistakes, and that the disclosure regime requires urgent examination to ensure fair trials, protect the innocent, and maintain public confidence in criminal justice.
